Christmas already? No, not yet, you may be saying. It’s only August. It’s too early for Christmas, shopping for gifts and visiting Santa Claus.
When it’s Christmas every day at your house, at OUR house specifically, it is never too early for Christmas. This holiday never leaves. I am already preparing for my fourth transatlantic trip to be Santa Claus at a venue in the United States since we moved to The Netherlands in September 2021.
I have scores of stories and recollections of people – mostly children, but also lots of adults – whom I have visited with at Santa’s chair during the past four decades. Santa thought he would share a few of them on this blog as I compile a collection of memories and observations during my experience as Santa Claus. I am titling this effort Skid Marks at the Threshold, as I attempt to show our audience some of the encounters – some quite humorous and some unexpectedly touching – I’ve had with youngsters of all ages while portraying Santa Claus. Following is one such adventure.
A year ago we asked you to come with us as we travel through life’s journeys! We didn’t go anywhere! As most of you have learned, life happens and plans you make change, ours did! Beginning in March and going forward we will communicate with you monthly. We will share our adventures and look forward to hear about yours, how they may intertwine with each other in this place we call earth. The first thing we are working on is developing our website/blog page to keep all our friends and clients up to date as to what is happening and what we are offering through our business.
